Fourier Transforms

Riccardo Santalucia

On Friday May 22nd and Saturday 23rd join us for a presentation of "Fourier Transforms", a work in progress by Riccardo Santalucia. Riccardo will introduce his research on "algorithmic divination and pattern pareidolia", which currently takes form in a multi-channel video work depicting noise and patterns across digital animation techniques and analog footage.

The work will be presented on Friday May 22nd, from 13:00 until 18:00 and on Saturday May 23rd, from 13:00 to 15:00.

On Saturday, starting from 15:00, Riccardo will facilitate a guided writing exercise, inviting participants to imagine various fictional characters derived from the imagery he will present (such as an oracle, a future seeker or a fortune teller) with the goal of using narration to look for meaning in the sea of noise.

During the writing session, Riccardo will introduce sonic and visual elements to facilitate improvisation, expanding the surrounding space into a creative narrative setting. Whether you have thoughts waiting to be written, or you simply enjoy writing, this moment is organized for you to play around. All ages and levels of writing are welcome.

Attendance to both the exhibition and the writing session is free of charge. To take part to the writing exercise on Saturday, please RSVP.

As both the exhibition and the writing session are part of a work in progress, visitors are welcome to freely share their impressions and observations with the artist.
